Talk Therapy
Feeling stuck or unsatisfied?
Do you struggle to put your needs ahead of others?
Feel overwhelmed under stress?
If you’ve struggled with any of these questions, then talk therapy may be helpful in identifying issues that are causing you emotional distress. Oftentimes, unresolved emotional issues result in symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief, which impact your daily life and work. The process of talk therapy allows you to explore and understand feelings and emotions within a safe and supportive environment. Together we will explore deeply rooted dysfunctional beliefs that have formed throughout life experiences that keep you stuck and unfulfilled. Once these issues are identified and understood, strategies are then developed to manage and decrease distress. Ultimately, the healing work of therapy is what allows you to live a more satisfying life and deepen your relationship with yourself and with others.
In our work together, I will:
offer you guidance as you process challenging emotions
empower you to access the wisdom within to heal disconnected parts seeking your attention
provide encouragement to nurture your strengths
support you in building self-love & self-compassion
help you develop regulation strategies to manage distressing thoughts and emotions
teach you how to set healthy boundaries in relationships
In order to get the most out of therapy, I encourage you to incorporate the skills & knowledge gained in therapy outside of our sessions so that you can continue to foster growth and resiliency.

EMDR Therapy
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR therapy is an eight-phase treatment where eye movements or other bilateral stimulation is used to process distressing memories. EMDR therapy differs from talk therapy and does not require talking in detail about a distressing event.
EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories that are stored in the brain. When distress from a disturbing event remains stuck in the brain’s information processing system, the upsetting images, thoughts, and emotions create an overwhelming feeling of being right back in that moment. These stress responses are part of our natural fight, flight, or freeze instincts.
Rather than focusing on changing emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing event, EMDR helps the brain process the distressing memories and allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. Although the original event is still remembered, the fight, flight, or freeze stress response associated with the memory is resolved.
